NWU FM is the official student radio station for North-West University’s Mahikeng campus. It broadcasts on the 105.5 FM frequency with a radius of 40km from the campus. The station has been on air since September 2011. Although its primary listeners are students and young people residing in and around Mahikeng, its unique youthful and urban sound also attracts older listeners.
All three of the North-West University’s campus stations offer a vibrant and interactive platform through which aspiring student broadcasters can gain experience and acquire critical skills through structured programmes relating to radio broadcasting. NWU FM’s sister stations are PUKfm on the NWU Potchefstroom campus and River FM on the NWU Vaal campus.
